In August of this year, the International Black Sea University in the English language published the book “World Politics” written by University Professor Nika Chitadze.
The purpose of the book is to introduce to the people interested in world politics – scientists, researchers, public sector and civil society representatives, students, etc. the main processes taking place in the modern world.
The book is divided into four main parts. The first part is devoted to the history and theory of world politics. It discusses such issues as the world political system, the main theoretical schools within the framework of world politics and international relations, the main subjects of the modern political world – states and international intergovernmental and non-governmental organizations, transnational corporations, international movements, international Transformation of the system of relations, world order, changes on the world political map, etc.
The second part of the study discusses and analyzes the main trends in the development of world politics – such as globalization (political, economic, cultural, and informational dimensions of globalization), integration and democratization, etc.
As for the third part, the main attention is paid to the important challenges facing the international community, which are related to disarmament, the existence of weapons of mass destruction, arms trade, international terrorism, organized crime, cybercrime, hybrid warfare, as well as demography, illegal migration, environmental pollution, conflict between the “Global South” and “Global North” and other related issues.
The fourth part of the book focuses on new dimensions of contemporary international relations and world politics, related to global economic, moral, international law, and educational aspects and their role in world politics. In the same part of the book, issues related to the state’s foreign policy and national security, the role of diplomacy in world politics, as well as the main aspects of global governance are discussed.
